Benjamin Verbois

Benjamin Matthew Verbois, “Ben,” departed this life on November 9, 2021 at the age of 33. He was born on May 3, 1988 and was a life long resident of Baton Rouge. He was the beloved son of the late Eric J. Verbois. He is survived by his mother, Brenda H. Verbois. He was the joy of their lives.

The light of Ben’s life was his precious son, Brayson. He is also survived by his fiancée Heather Sistrunk, his Aunt, Carol Green, and cousins Cayleen and Brandt Green, his Uncle Ken and Aunt Molly Harelson, and Cousins Maci and Gabe Harelson.

A private service was held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, November 12, 2021 to celebrate his life. Following are excerpts from the eulogy and prayer given by his Uncle Ken:

Ben was the sweetest most gentle young man you would ever meet. I was so proud to see that same love, patience and gentleness in his interaction with his son, “Bray”……

Our beloved Ben was lost to us due to the cruel disease of addiction. Our sorrow knows no depths as we consider the preciousness of the life lost to this merciless disease. Despite our sorrow, we pray for strength. We choose to affirm the goodness and sacredness of the life of Ben. Lord, welcome Ben into your Kingdom as the whole, healthy person you created, now restored to peace, wholeness and joy in your presence.

We will love you forever.
