Beatrice Andrus

Beatrice Mock Andrus, age 65, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday April 2, 2022 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

She was a 1977 graduate of Louisiana School for the Deaf and attended The National Technical Institute for the Deaf and Gallaudet University. After marriage to John Gary Andrus, Bea cared for her blind and deaf parents for 27 years while being a wife and mother and working full-time.  Bea was cherished by everyone she knew, and her talents were many. She was a devoted caregiver, an amazing homemaker, a beloved wife and mother, and a true friend. She loved her grand cats. Bea enjoyed spending time with her family,  quilting, and making things from scratch. Throughout each year Bea made numerous crafts and outdoor holiday displays. Christmas was her favorite season. Bea is preceded in death by her parents George Mock Sr and Annie Broussard and her brother George Mock Jr. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 38 years, Gary Andrus; daughter Kristy Andrus; cats Wapi, Suki, Bella, Beau, Miu, Ivy, Biscuit and Misty; nephews Lance Mock and Brandon Mock; stepdaughter Stephanie Andrus-Phillips; sister Belinda Bearb; and cousins.

There will not be a memorial service due to COVID and to minimize the risk of losing another parent. Bea will be brought to her final resting place in the sea in Florida at a later date with close friends and family.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of the physicians who took great care of Bea over the years and to all of her loyal friends.
