Barry Hirstius, Sr.

Barry Hirstius, Sr. went to meet our Lord at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 19th, 2015.

He was 67 years old. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge for 40 years.

He is survived by his companion, Debbie Matthews of Denham Springs, LA.; four sons: Barry Hirstius, Jr. of Poland, IN and his wife Barbara; Steven Hirstius of New Orleans, LA.; and Johnny and Jerry Scott, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother Kevin Hirstius of Lexington, Ky.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A private gathering with family will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent on behalf of the Hirstius family, to the American Cancer Society.
