Barbara Toural

The Lord called Barbara Clements Toural, age 82, home Oct. 15th, 2021. She has gone to join her beloved husband and holder of her eternal heart, Lenest J. Toural Jr. She received a call for a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, gardening, and eating her fill of sweets to her heart’s content. Music, laughter, and love are guaranteed.

Barbara was born Oct. 16th, 1938 to Theodore B. Clements and Violet R. Hayden, and she was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School’s Class of 1956. She retired from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's department as well as the National Hansen's Disease Center/Federal Government. Those close to her would describe her in life as a fiery rocket full of love and compassion with an eye for the flashy, but her true passion lay in motherhood. She was fiercely dedicated to raising her two daughters, giving her all to be a fantastic and loving mother and grandmother who supported her family through all the difficulties of life. Family meant everything to Barbara, and she was the glue that held us all together. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Shirley Correia; her daughters, Darlene McCarthy and Carla Caston; her late husband's children, Lenist Toural III, Raegan Schibler, and Danny Toural; her grandchildren, Logan, Alexis, Kandace, Parker, Peyton, Casey, and Danny Jr.; greatgrandchild, Skylar; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Lenest J. Toural Jr.; her parents, Theodore B. Clements and Violet R. Hayden; her siblings, Gwen Kidd, June Guzzardo, and William “Billy” Clements Sr.; her grandson, Brant Clayton; and her late husbands daughter, Nienah Tullos.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday Oct. 27, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, and services starting at 2:30 PM following with a Christian burial at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Pallbearers will be Logan McCarthy, William “Billy” Clements Jr., Jason Guzzardo, Parker Toural, Tommy Murray III, and Zachary Guzzardo. Honorary Pallbearer will be Peyton Toural.
