Barbara Marion Meadors, a retired teacher, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. She was 79. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. until graveside service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Robert Marcell. She was a graduate of Byrd High School and Centenary College in Shreveport and received her master's degree in fine arts from LSU in 1959. She taught school in Calexico, Calif., for 35 years. Survived by a sister, Mary E. Fargason and husband Crayton A. Fargason, M.D., of Baton Rouge; three nephews, Crayton A. Fargason Jr., M.D., and wife Rachel, of Birmingham, Ala., James Scott Fargason and wife Meshelle, and David Philip Fargason, M.D., and wife Donna, all of Baton Rouge; and numerous cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, James and Irma Meadors. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Ollie Steele Burden Manor and Hospice of Baton Rouge.
