Barbara Chaney

Barbara Chaney, a resident of Gonzales, LA passed away peacefully at The Carpenter House on February 27, 2022 at the age of 81.  She graduated from Istrouma High School in 1958.  She worked for the EBR School System for 36 and a half years as a secretary.  Everyone who knew her loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Evans Piper; son, Jimmy Evans and wife Becky; son-in-law, Steve Vaulton; sister, Millie Sanders and her husband Reggie; grandchildren, Nick and Penny Vaulton, Dylan and Shelby Vaulton Sarno, Colby and JoAnna Blocker, Rikki Lea Blocker, and Chelsea Blocker; great-grandchildren, Cohen, Charlie, Jace, and Benny Blocker, Jaxson Lopez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Roger Chaney; former husband, Jim Evans; parents, Carl and Louvee Wagner; daughter, Sandy Vaulton; son, Ricky Blocker; grandson, Dustin Blocker; sisters and brothers, Bobby and Peggy Woods, Mary Lou and Jamie Beck, Bobby Wagner, Joan Wagner, and Ben and Carolyn Evans.  She loved hanging out with family and friends.  She was a member of GraceWorks Church in Prairieville.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. until Funeral Service at 9:15 a.m.  Interment will follow at Port Hudson National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
