Austin Parker Jones came into this world on July 15, 1991, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he lived his entire life until Friday, November 8, 2024, when he passed on surrounded by a loving family.
As a young boy, Austin loved fishing, learning about reptiles, and aspired to be the next Steve Irwin. He always enjoyed looking for alligators and the last photo on his phone was of an alligator at the Ochsner Medical Center Lake.
Austin began his education at Parkview Baptist School and was a 13-year graduate in 2010, where he made lifelong friends, bonded with teachers, and most importantly developed a relationship with God. While at Parkview, he enjoyed band and was a member of the football team, under Kenny Guillot, whom he admired for nurturing all players into men of great character.
Austin attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a BS in Kinesiology in 2016. At LSU, he ‘played’ intramural coed soccer even though he was built like a football lineman. He was proud when his team won a championship.
Austin is lovingly remembered and will be deeply missed by his parents Sarah and Glenn Jones; his sister Lindsey Foster and her husband Peter, his niece Claire, and nephew Ethan; and his grandmother Elizabeth Cooley. His grandparents, John Cooley and Sam and Becky Jones predeceased him. God blessed our lives with a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend who was intelligent, determined, and full of life! We will cherish the memories.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
