Austin Efferson

Mark Austin Efferson, a resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away on January 15, 2013 at the age of 14. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will resume on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Austin is survived by his father, Gerald Efferson, Jr. mother and stepfather, Aimee and Jim Shepherd sister, Madison Elizabeth Shepherd brothers, Mason Allen Efferson, Nicholas Crotwell Shepherd, Weston Dean Shepherd, Jeremy Allen and Hillery Shepherd paternal grandmother, Sandra Reynolds maternal grandparents, Sharon and J.D. Lane, and Mary Owenby aunts, Nicole Efferson Mayers, Patty and Steve Williams, Linda and Billy Goldman uncles, Matthew LaValley, Jerold and Rita Shepherd. He is preceded in death by his greatgrandmother, Joyce Joiner Crandall greatgrandmother, Lavell Newell grandfather, Gerald A. Efferson Sr. uncle, Mark LaValley grandfather, James L. Shepherd greatgrandfather, Hebert L. Baker. Austin was an 8th grade student at Prairieville Middle School, where he was a member of the football team. He played nose guard and his number was 34. He enjoyed listening to music, watching sports and movies on TV, X Box, and he loved to play basketball and football. Pallbearers are Matthew LaValley, Joshua LaValley, Randy Alleman, Travis Mayers, Jeremy Shepherd, Weston Shepherd and Nicholas Shepherd.
