August Carls

March 29, 1938 — April 19, 2013

A resident of Baton Rouge, LA and a native of Petoskey, Michigan he passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at The Carpenter House at the age of 75 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was a retiree from retail management and a veteran of the Army Infantry. August graduated from Petoskey, Michigan Highschool and attended LSU for college. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Betty Carls daughter, Lori Carls Landry and husband Tony son, Kevin Curtis Carls and wife Linda brothers, Harry Carls and Jim Carls 5 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, August and Rose Lawbits Carls and brother, Billy Carls. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Devin, Josh, Jordan, Christian and Andrew. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Monday, April 22, 2013 from 5 pm 8 pm and will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 10 am until religious service at 11 am conducted by Reverend Ken Carroll.
