Beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend and animal lover, Ashleigh Culivan returned to her heavenly Father after a four year battle with cancer on Friday, February 5, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was 23, and a native of Baton Rouge.
Ashleigh is survived by her parents, Steve and Jane Culivan, a brother, Jonathan, aunts: Brigitte, Candy, Carol, Cindy, Lulu, Natalie, uncles: David, John, Mike, Randy, and numerous cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Alex, grandparents, Joe and Joyce Culivan and Paul and Mary Marionneaux, and uncles, Fred Sostrom and John Wemple.
A 2010 graduate of St. Michael High School, Ashleigh attended Louisiana Tech University. An animal science major, with dreams of becoming a veterinarian, Ashleigh was a Baseball Belle and a member of the Pre-Vet Club and Bulldog Mascot Care Team. Special thanks to Drs. Laura Gentry and William Green for assisting Ashleigh in continuing her education during her illness.
Special thanks are also extended to Drs. Moore, Deyo, Boston, Alberty and Goshorn, nurses Joan and Tina, and the nurses and staffs of the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic and OLOL PEDS 3 unit. Our forever thanks.
Visitation to be held at Resthaven on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Visiting on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Michael Collins. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory to follow.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Hospice of Baton Rouge or Most Blessed Sacrament Church.
