Arthur Rumney, age 74, a current resident of Baton Rouge, La. and a native of New Orleans, La. passed away unexpectedly with cancer on July 19, 2016. Mass and Burial were held on July 23 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and St. George Cemetery.
Beloved husband of Jean Rumney, son of the late James M. and Marie Rumney, dedicated father of Art, Cathy, Jan and Julie, beloved father-in-law of Kristine, "Giz," and Jim, grandfather (Paw Paw) of Andrew, Derek, Brian, Brittany, Joshua and Christopher, grandfather-in-law of Becca, great-grandfather of Marshall, brother of Robert (Bob) Rumney and the late James A Rumney.
Arthur was a veteran of the United States Air Force, graduated from Cor Jesu High School, and earned a bachelors degree from Loyola University. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Francis X. Seelos Council No. 2878, Metairie, La. His career spanned 50 years of dedicated service to various companies including International Harvester, Riley Brothers Co., Commercial Credit Co., Lykes Brothers Steamship Co., and the National Finance Center.
