Arthur Henry

Arthur Leonard Henry passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016, peacefully at his home after a short battle with cancer.

He was born November 9, 1927 in Montreal Canada. He was a graduate of Gulf Coast Military Academy and Vanderbilt University. He was a Marine Corps Captain who served in combat in the Korean War. Leonard was an Allstate Insurance Agent for over 40 years and retired in 1999. After retiring his passion was traveling the United States in his motor home where he met many of his lifelong friends. He also loved spending time in the city he called home growing up, Spring City, Tennessee. Leonard's commitment to his family was exceptional. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Lynda, for many years. He always reached out to others with extreme kindness and sincerity. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was loved by many.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home on Saturday October 8 from 9am until the memorial service at 11am.

Leonard is preceded in death by daughter Vicky C. Gardner.

Survived by his wife, Lynda Shaver Henry of Bowling Green, Kentucky; daughters Linda Henry (Danny), Elizabeth Miller, and Tracy Singleton (Bob); sons Larry Henry (Karen), Hal Henry, Bryan Gardner (Amber) and Stephen Henry; grandchildren Elizabeth (Josh), Scott (Brynne), Kate, Hudson, Harrison, Hattie, Brynn, Megan, Victoria, John Robert, Trey and Gregory and great grandchildren Jacob, Audrey Ann and Kaiden.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to defeatgbm.org or to a charity of choice.
