Arthur Broussard

Arthur L. Broussard, age 84, native of Biloxi, MS, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on July 3, 2015, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Arthur was born in Biloxi, MS. After graduating from Biloxi High School in 1948, Arthur went on to work at Edgewater Hotel and Buena Vista Hotel soon after. He moved his family to Baton Rouge in 1964 and worked as a supervisor with LSU Food Service. Arthur retired after 30 years of service.

Arthur was a man of prayer as he walked with the Lord every day. He loved his family with all of his heart and would do anything for them. Arthur's passion was reading, as he always had a book in his hand, and studying his French Acadian language. He loved working in his yard and being surrounded by his family.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Arlene Mattina Broussard; children, Kellie Broussard Whittemore and husband Christopher, David Broussard and wife Dayna, Leslie Broussard Doyle and husband Michael, Vickie Broussard Thompson, and Sheila Broussard Davis; and grandchildren, Ashley Whittemore, Carlie Whittemore, Nicole Broussard, Lee Joseph Broussard, Claire Broussard, Jacob Doyle, and Joshua Doyle.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Alice Cormier Broussard, and siblings, Ozea Trahan of Biloxi, MS, Olphilia D. Huval of Ocean Springs, MS, Alphege Joseph (Poat) Broussard of Lafayette, LA, Bertha Hebert of Biloxi, MS, Pearl Bosarge of Gulfport, MS, and Ethel Comeaux of Biloxi, MS.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 12:00 PM until the time of services.

A rosary will be recited at the beginning of visitation.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
