Arlene Achord, 73, passed away October 4, 2021 at her daughter’s home.
She was born August 15, 1948, a daughter of the late Levy and Lurline Calmes.
She was a member of Emmanual Baptist Church, and a homemaker. She enjoyed arts, crafts, sewing, and spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Her life was a living example of the Bible verse 1 Timothy 5:10: “And is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord’s people, helping those in trouble, and devoting to all kinds of good deeds. After many years of battling cancer, she has peace and comfort with God.
Preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Steve Achord.
Survived by her daughter, Tabitha Clark Cain and son, Chadwick Jones; sisters, Charlene Templet and Sue Allen; grandchildren, Joshua Clark, Anthony Clark, Jr., Nicole Jones, Ashley Andrade, Meghan Jones, and Destinee Cain; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, October 8, 2021, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until services at 8:00 PM, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
