A.R. Harris, Jr.

A.R. Harris, Jr., age 70, a resident of New Roads, LA, passed away at home on April 21, 2018. He was surrounded by his family.

A.R. graduated from Catholic High in 1964 and later attended USL. He joined the US Marine Corp, serving in Vietnam and later honorably discharged in 1969. He was a successful business owner, operating Ames Pest Control in New Roads, while remaining an active member of his community.

He is survived by his sons, Ty Harris and wife Jennifer and Adam Harris; sister, Amy Harris Varnado and husband Darryl; step-mother, Katy Harris; grandchildren, Tyler Harris and Jordan Harris; and nieces and nephews, Logan Harris, Mary-Hannah Varnado, and Scotlyn Varnado.

A.R. is preceded in death by his father, AR "Cotton" Harris; mother, Sara Harris; daughter, Gina Alise Harris; and brother, Samuel "Gene" Harris.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 9:00am until funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Baton Rouge, 10532 S Glenstone Pl C, Baton Rouge, LA 70810 and Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, 550 Lobdell Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
