Anton "Tony" Jordan, age 96, passed away on June 13, 2016. He was born in Ashland, Wisconsin, and grew up working on his parent's farm and then worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Tony Jordan served as a boatswain in the Merchant Marines on SS William H. Allen during WWII. He lived and worked in Racine, Wisconsin until his retirement from Kappus Bakery after 25 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and served many years as a union steward. He then relocated to Baton Rouge. Tony loved his family dearly and had so much pride in the U.S.A. He enjoyed staying busy with projects, cards, and spending time in his backyard which he called "Heaven on Earth." Tony was one of the finest men God had created, a man with a golden heart and much love and generosity.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Roger) Ives, Joyce (Thomas) Nelson, Judy (Warren) Kontny, and Karen (LeRoy) Aucoin; his sons, Lawrence (Ann) Jordan and Richard (Hope) Jordan; his 19 grandchildren; his 29 great-grandchildren; his 4 great-great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews and special friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph Jordan, Sr; his six sisters, and two brothers.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway from 10:30 AM until services at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
