Anton (Tony) Roman Friedmann IV passed away at his home after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease on December 28, 2016, his 70th birthday.
Tony is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cathleen (Coonan), his daughters, Jennifer Friedmann and Mary "Molly" Bourgoyne (Brad), grandchildren Joseph, Anna, and David and siblings Mary Johnson, Walter Friedmann, and Connie Larson.
Born and raised in Gainesville, FL, the son of Walter and Eleanor (Hornsby), he lived in Metairie and retired to Denham Springs, LA.
He graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Geology and a Masters Degree from Indiana State University in Micropaleontology. His professional career was spent at the Department of Interior, MMS in New Orleans.
Tony loved to travel and to play his favorite sports, golf, racquetball, and cycling. His wry sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs, visitation at 9:00 am and mass at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation in Tony's name.
The family wishes to thank his caregivers, nurses, and doctors and all who helped him during his last months.
