A Resident and Native of Baton Rouge, LA he passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 9:15 am at the Carpenter House after a seven year battle with brain cancer. He was a 1966 graduate of Baton Rouge High School. Retired after 30 years of service with the Dept. of Public Works for the City of Baton Rouge. He worked as an Engineering Aide in the department. He also worked as an EMT Intermediate for East Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services. He was a graduate and Board member of Affiliated Blind in Lafayette. A founding member and past president of the Affiliated Blind Lafayette Chapter in Baton Rouge. He also graduated from the Blue Cliff Massage Therapy School in Lafayette as a licensed massage therapist. A volunteer at St. George Fire Department. He attended the Baton Rouge City Police Training Academy and volunteered as a Baton Rouge Police Officer and he was also an East Baton Rouge Sheriff Reserve Deputy. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am conducted by the Rev. Jerry Martin. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Paula Fodale Romano son, Riley E. Bordelon III daughter and fiance, Christina L. Romano and Marcus S. Shiver. Preceded in death by his parents Anthony R. and Irene Raborn Romano. The family would like to thank Dr. Lawrence Rhymes, Neurooncology surgeon at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas Dr. John Olson, Neurologist at the Neuromedical Center Dr. Renee Levine, Radiology Oncologist at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center the staff at Pace of Baton Rouge Adult Daycare on Bishop Ott Avenue his special caregivers Ms. Linda Alsander, Ms. Eloise Combs, Mrs. Indira Wiedmer and Ms. Joel Willis The Rev. Jerry Martin, Rev. Than Vu, Chaplain Chris Roussel, Dr. Susan Nelson and the staff at the Carpenter House and Finally a very special thanks to Dr. Bryan Bienvenu, oncologist and staff at the LA Hematology and Oncology Group. Thank you for all the prayers and blessings, most of all the Great Healer, Our Lord God.
