Annette Smith

April 14, 1924 — February 12, 2011

Mrs. Annette Granny Couvillion Smith, 86, entered into rest on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Feb. 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m., with a eulogy by her grandson, Philip Aucoin. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Granny was a native of Baton Rouge and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to be a part of her life. Precious memories of her will live in our hearts forever. Granny was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Smith Sr. parents, Narcisse and Emma Couvillion and brothers, Stanley, Stephen and Lindsey Couvillion. She is survived by children, Sharon Alonzo Davis, Baton Rouge, Connie Alonzo Creel and husband William, Patricia Alonzo Allen and husband Roy, Barry J. Alonzo and wife Shanta, of Walker, and Edward M. Alonzo, of Baton Rouge 16 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brian Davis, Michael Davis, Justin Creel, Philip Aucoin, Barry Alonzo Jr., Devin Davis, Raymond Davis Sr., Lance Allen, Kurt Allen and Jason Devall. Honorary pallbearer is Stephen L. Couvillion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital .
