Annette Ferrara

Annette “Nette” Ferrara passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 24. She was 60 years old and a resident of Baton Rouge.

She was the high-spirited, fun loving daughter of Russell Ferrara, Sr. and the late Antoinette Ferrara. Annette was the apple of her dad’s eye; and she will always be remembered for her loving heart, warm smile, contagious laugh, spunky dance moves, and driven spirit. Annette enjoyed the simple things in life and made a great impact on her siblings, nieces and nephews, as well as anyone who had the opportunity to meet her. She accomplished many great things in her long life; some of which include winning medals in the Special Olympics, getting to meet and kiss her all time crush, Erik Estrada, and beating the odds of Down Syndrome by living to the age of sixty. Her family is comforted knowing she is in Heaven, joined with her mother, both smiling down at their beautiful family. Annette’s spirit will be celebrated for many years to come. She was the amazing sister of Janis Ferrara, Nancy Ballard (Ricky), Russell Ferrara, Jr. (Melissa), and Danny Ferrara (Darnelle). Aunt to Jeremy Ballard (Leslie), Nicholas Ferrara (Ashley), Natalie Ferrara Mullen (Steven), Joshua Ferrara (Gabrielle), Ryan Ballard, Christopher Ferrara (Rebecca), Allison Ballard Meyers (Jeremy), Joelle Ferrara, Claire Ferrara Ohlerking (J.D.), Julia Ferrara.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Ryan Ballard, Nicholas and Christopher Ferrara, Samuel Losavio and Jeremy Meyers.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation and celebration of her life at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway from 5:00pm -8:00pm on Tuesday May 28 and on Wednesday, May 29 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road from 9:00am-10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am. Interment will follow immediately at Resthaven Funeral Home.
