A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 6:55 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010, at her home. She was 71 and a native of Bellaire, Texas. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, June 1, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting continues in the funeral home chapel Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tim Heflin. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her daughter, Terri S. Guidry, Baton Rouge sister and brotherinlaw, Carolyn H. and Jerry Byrd, Corpus Christi, Texas two grandchildren, Erica L. Duval and husband Michael A., Copperas Cove, Texas, and Samantha N. Guidry, Baton Rouge and greatgrandson, Garrett M. Duval. Preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Schulz and parents, John L. and Minnie Lee Hawkins. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Thalians Book Club and Louisiana Engineering Society Auxiliary and was active with her late husbands military units. Special thanks to Doctors Hospice and Dr. Maria Dean at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their compassion and expert advice.
