Ann Buquet Mika, 76, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on November 27,2018.
She graduated from Baton Rouge High in 1960 and attended Louisiana State University. Ann loved to cook and entertain family and friends. She was happiest when she had family around the dinner table to share the meal she had lovingly prepared. She was also very talented in design and loved to decorate and accessorize her home and the homes of her friends.
Ann was born Grace Ann Peavey, in Tickfaw, LA to her biological parents, Howard A. Peavey and Mary Hughes Peavey. At the age of 4 years, she was adopted by her cousin Lenora Lewis Buquet and her husband Alphonse D. Buquet, growing up in a loving home.
She is preceded in death by her biological parents and Alphonse and Lenora Buquet of Baton Rouge; her beloved husband Ronald A. (Mike) Mika of Baton Rouge and son Henri Andre Mika of Chicago, Illinois.
Ann is survived by her son Allen Terry Mika and wife Denise Mika of Huffman, Texas; daughter- in-law Jami Mika of Zeeland, Michigan and niece Lori Crutchfield of Salem, New Hampshire.
A benchside memorial will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory on December 8th, at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Ann’s name; 10528 Kentshire Court, Baton Rouge LA 70810.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Buddy & Judy Drell for their warm and loving support and to the Very Special Angels that took care of Ann in the last few weeks of her life, especially Develyn London. In addition, our deepest thanks to the wonderful nurses of Hospice in His Name.
