Ann Alldredge

October 20, 1928 — November 2, 2009

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who never let the opportunity to talk to a stranger pass her by. She was a resident of Prairieville and a native of St. Louis, Missouri. She died November 2, 2009 in the comfort of the Carpenter House. Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home 11817 Jefferson Hwy from 5pm to 9 pm on Thursday, November 5. Visiting at 9:30am until service at 11am conducted by Deacon Randall Clement. Burial in Resthaven Garden of Memory. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Collins Kid Alldredge, her parents Forrie and Joseph Forrest Gibbens and her two sons, Michael Joseph Guessfeld and Thomas Edward Guessfeld. She is survived by one sister, Janice and her husband Roy Mac McGary, of Aurora, IL; one brother, James Gibbens and his wife Jackie, of Baker; two sons, James Robert Guessfeld and his wife Cathy of Evansville, IN and David Alan Guessfeld of Baton Rouge; one daughter Mary Guessfeld Conerly of Prairieville; two daughter-in-laws, Sandra Day Guessfeld of Baton Rouge and Nancy Adams Guessfeld of Zachary; numerous beloved nieces and nephews of Aurora, IL Baton Rouge, LA; her nine grandchildren, Brandi Guessfeld Mire and her husband Ross, Dr. Christopher Lollytootser Achee and his wife Robin, Jon Guessfeld and his wife Julie, Melissa Achee Wilkinson and her husband Shane, George Bryan Achee and his wife Jessica, Brooke Guessfeld Broome and her husband Lance, Katy Guessfeld, Dustin Guessfeld and his fianc Katie Wesley, Derek Guessfeld and his wife Abigail; two step-granddaughters, Nikki Henry and her husband Cody, and Renee Jenkins and her husband Reese. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren: Thomas Matthew Mire, Elizabeth Collin Achee, Ryan Hanks, Bayli, Brayden Brooklynn Queen Bee Wilkinson, Nicholas Achee, Tanner Guessfeld, Cadon Blades, Avery Broome, Aubrey Guessfeld, Faith, Paige Cody Brown, Emma Henry, and Lucas Olivia Jenkins. She enjoyed putting a smile on a childs face by handing out money to unsuspecting kids. Those who knew her could always find her at a local Dillards or TJ Maxx just passing the time with her favorite clerks. She enjoyed a final trip to Las Vegas with her family in August. Pallbearers will be: Dr. Christopher Achee, Bryan Achee, Jon Guessfeld, Derek Guessfeld, Dustin Guessfeld, and Shane Wilkinson. A special thanks to Dr. Karla Pope. To the extremely caring nurses and staff of the Carpenter House, her family will forever be grateful. Thank you to the staff of St. Josephs Hospice for their kindness and care during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Josephs Hospice of Baton Rouge or The Carpenter House.
