Angeline Mae Manda Yarborough (Nana) died peacefully on July 26, 2015. She was surrounded by all her loving family and her devoted caregivers in her final months and days. Angie was a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, born on July 13, 1927, to her beloved parents, Mamie and Vincent J Manda.
Angie was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and Baton Rouge Business College. In 1947, she married T Walter Yarborough and together they raised five wonderful children, whom she always considered her jewels. She cherished times spent with them and had the ability to make each one feel special. Angie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a genuine, selfless lady whose smile could literally light up a room; she simply radiated love. Angie enjoyed cooking and serving her family. She lived her Catholic faith daily and was a devoted member of St. Louis King of France, which was dear to her. She served as lector and Eucharistic Minister for many years and was active in the Catholic Daughters of America.
Angie kept a positive attitude throughout her life and continued to inspire her family members even during her last difficult months. We will remember her beauty, happiness, generous spirit, and her enthusiasm for and love of life. Angie always had a good word for everyone and had the ability to find the unique attributes in each of her children and grandchildren, finding joy in being in their company as they did in hers.
Angie is survived by her five children: Tommy (Tracey) Yarborough, Bobby (Marsha) Yarborough, Mary Elaine Yarborough Bordelon (Macky), Steve (Jeanne) Yarborough, and Matt Yarborough. Her nine grandchildren are Katie (Jeremy) Skupien; Chad Vincent (Christal) Yarborough; Patrick (Blair) Yarborough; Josh (Amy) Yarborough; Melissa Yarborough (David Hernandez); Amanda Bordelon Holloway(Chad); Jay Bordelon; Michelle Yarborough Zarei (Sina); Morgan Yarborough Gautreaux (Marc). Her nine great-grandchildren include Molly Kate and Walker Vincent Skupien; Clayton and Clara Yarborough; Beau and Braedon Holloway; Blake and Bryce Yarborough; and Angela Hemandez-Yarborough. She is also survived by her only sister Barbara Manda O'Rourk, her brother-in-law Maurice W. O'Rourk III, and her nephew and godchild Maury O'Rourk, as well as many cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years T Walter Yarborough, her parents, and a baby brother Vincent Jay Manda.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis King of France Church at 2121 North Sherwood Forest Drive, conducted by Father Trey Nelson beginning at 9:00 am until Mass beginning at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2015.
