Anelle Poshataske Waguespack, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was 80 years old.
Anelle was born on October 8, 1942, in Silsbee, Texas to Dr. Wallace J. Poshataske and Elouise Schuler Poshataske. After graduation from Silsbee High, she went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and her master’s degree from Louisiana State University. Her tenure teaching spanned across Beaumont, Houston, and Louisiana. She chose to give up her career to become a full-time homemaker, where she devoted herself to raising her family.
Anelle was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Perry M. Waguespack; their children Christopher Waguespack and wife Allison of Delray Beach, Florida and Michael Waguespack of Baton Rouge; and her adored grandchildren Eva and Holden Waguespack of Delray Beach, Florida. Anelle is also survived by her sister Jean Goldman and husband Harry of Waterproof; her nephew Jeff Goldman of New Orleans; her niece Karen Goldman of Monroe; her cousin Nancy Serio of New Orleans; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her passion in life was her family. Anelle was kind, selfless, forgiving. She devoted all her energies to supporting her family, particularly her grandchildren. She recited daily scripture readings and was a devout member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, where she participated in several prayer groups.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Avenue in Baton Rouge on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Carpenter House for the care and compassion they provided to Anelle.
