A contractor and graduate of Southern University, he died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at his home in East Haven, Conn. He was 54. Visiting at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road, on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, from 11:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Trey Nelson. Recitation of the rosary at 12:30 p.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Alvin was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a master carpenter who was very passionate about his work and was very much a perfectionist about it. He was a kind, gentle, patient and bighearted people person who gave much more than he received. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed life to the fullest. Alvin enjoyed auto racing, fishing, hunting and fourwheeler racing. Survived by his parents, Alvin L. Sr. and Yvonne L. Guerin daughter, Brittani G. Bell and husband Damon son, Brandon Guerin and wife Shonda sister, Shawna G. Rochon and husband Randy two brothers, Kurt A. Guerin and wife Terrie, and Jeff J. Guerin and wife Steffanie four grandchildren, Jada, Trey, Sheldon and Kendall special aunt, Barbara Lamotte Franklin and husband Larry and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Mable Graves Lamotte paternal grandparents, Norman and Mary Decuir Guerin and nephew, Ernie Burford II..
