A loving husband, father and devoted poet, he died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Lakewood Quarters. He was 72, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Honduras, Central America. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday from 5 p.m. until memorial service at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dave Smith. He is survived by his wife, Josefa Torres Espinal; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elena Espinal and Denis Hernandez, Xiomara Espinal and Luis Reyes, and Zulema Espinal and Samuel Santos; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Manuel and Marta Espinal, Alfred and Annabelle Espinal, Nestor and Oveli Espinal, Ronny and Gisela Espinal, and Rommel Espinal; three sisters, Norma Zeron, Yolanda Damas and Elbia Deleon; four brothers, Luis and Lucas Espinal, and Rolando and Antonio Rosales; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Isabel and Elena Espinal; and a brother-in-law, Manuel Zeron.
