A retired employee with Capital City Press with 28 12 years of service, he died Friday, June 13, 2008, at 7 a.m. at Heritage Manor after a lengthy illness. He was 80, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Natchez, Miss. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in Occupational Forces in Japan. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, June 15, was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting continues in the funeral home chapel on Monday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Merlin Liverman and the Rev. Ron Tyndall. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Zelma Sims Gray; two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Roberts and husband Leonard, of Dickinson, Texas, and Marcia Gray, of Baton Rouge; son, Edwin Keith Gray and wife Julia, of Sherwood, Ark.; three sisters, Mary Ann King, Valerie Pritchard and Hazel June, all of Natchez; brother, Paul Gray, of Kenner; five grandchildren, Wendy Roberts O'Brien, Daryl Pennington Jr., Danielle Pennington-Guerin, Aaron Roberts and Jonathan Gray; and three great-grandchildren, Nicole Guerin, Mason O'Brien and McKenna O'Brien. Preceded in death by his brother, George Gray. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
