Albert Robinson Ellis, Jr. age of 87, a lifetime resident of Baton Rouge, was called home to the Kingdom of God by his Savior Jesus Christ and beloved wife, Mildred Ellis, on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Albert was a devout child of Christ, a loving husband, a caring father, and a wonderful grandfather. He was an ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church and diligently served his Diaconate at St. George Catholic Church, his home parish. Albert is survived by his 5 children, Jan Ellis, Joni Luce and husband, Steve Luce, Robby Ellis, Andrew Ellis and Michael Ellis; his seven grandchildren, Derek Luce, Taylor Luce and his wife, Meagan Smith Luce, Drew, Lindsey and Lauren Ellis and Madelyn and Grant Ellis. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mildred Dugas Ellis. Visitation will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St George Dr, Baton Rouge, on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM, and celebrated by Reverend Mike Schatzle, Reverend Thomas Ranzino, Bishop Robert Muench, and numerous other Priests of the Baton Rouge Diocese. Interment to follow at St. George Catholic Cemetery. The family graciously requests that donations in Albert's name to be made to St. George Catholic Church.
