Alan Stephen Babin, age 70, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, he was born November 6, 1945. A graduate of Woodlawn High School and an attendee of Louisiana State University. He was a Dow Chemical retiree, a licensed pilot and United States Coast Guard Captain. After retiring, Alan enjoyed traveling, flying, fishing, spending time at his camp in Buras, Louisiana; as well as, following and supporting his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Kathleen Babin; daughter, Theresa Babin and partner Michael Guillory; son, Christopher Babin and daughter-in-law, Tracy Babin; sister, Karen Martin and husband, Dan Martin; brother-in-law, Larry Arrowood; nieces, Angel Dozar, Kim Amy, Laura Zeitler; nephew, Kirk Edwards; grandchildren, Alexandra Babin and Aidan Babin.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, Charles Rendle Babin; mother, Antoinette Laura Bernard and sister, Joan Arrowood.
Pallbearers will be Brent Amy, Troy Cashdollar, Brandon Dozar, Kirk Edwards, Michael Guillory and Adam Hoover.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. With memorial service to follow.
