It is with great sadness the family of Adam Tabary Dows announces his unexpected death at home on June 2, 2018. He was 34 years old.
Born December 16, 1983 in Bowling Green, Ohio, he also briefly lived in Houston, TX, Robinson, IL, Findlay, OH, and Detroit, MI. The majority of his life was spent in Baton Rouge which he called home. Adam graduated from Episcopal High School in 2002 where he was a member of the school band and lettered in football and powerlifting. Upon graduation, he enrolled in the Honors College at Louisiana State University and graduated in 2006 with a BS degree in Biological Engineering. He passed away three days prior to starting his third year of law school at LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
He was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, and LSU fan. He loved spending time outdoors salt and fresh water fishing with family and friends and taking in the breathtaking beauty of an early morning hunt. He passionately cared for his flock of pet chickens, cultivated heirloom tomatoes from seed, and experimented with other Louisiana natives in his garden. He enjoyed ardently watching and attending LSU football and baseball games with his family and friends.
Adam's family consoles themselves knowing he passed peacefully and painlessly in his sleep after spending his last day doing things he loved with people he loved. Early in the day, along with his dad and a close friend, he fished for and caught speckled trout. Adam then spent time with his chickens and tended his tomatoes. He and his mom and dad fried some trout from the day's catch before watching LSU win their first baseball game of the Corvallis, OR regional. Adam then went to bed.
He is survived by his sister, Marly (Adam Martinez) and niece Julia, his parents Wally and MarLane, his uncle Martin Comer (Janet), and his aunt Gina Comer.
His grandparents Elaine and Martin Comer and Camille and Wallace Dows precede him in death.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday June 9 from 9-11 followed by a Catholic prayer service at 11.
