Adam Barksdale

Born Oct. 28, 1983, Adam Monroe Barksdale passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010. His megawatt smile, zest for life and unconditional love for his family and friends was contagious and will be missed by all. He was pure of heart and had great sensitivity for the world around him. He touched so many lives and will forever live within us. Adam is survived by his parents, John and Cindy Barksdale sisters, Shannon and husband Alexander Mahon, Lauren and husband Carter Hill, and Kelsey Barksdale and fianc Jonathan Dukes maternal grandfather, Col. Edgar Munyon and aunts, uncles and cousins. In heaven, he will join his paternal grandparents, John Monroe Sr. and Eunice Blackmon Barksdale maternal grandmother, Shirley Young Munyon and dear friends, Taylor Weimer, Jessica Inzenga, Jay Giblin, David James and Jordy Rourke. Pallbearers will be Alexander Mahon, Carter Hill, Jonathan Dukes, Jordan Fabre, Andrew Fabre, Justin Nugent, Adam Morgan and Steven LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Loup, Jason Martin, Mac Bullock, Grey Hammett, David Crigler, Gabe Garrett, Lauren Bullock and Melissa Schultz. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, April 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation continues at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Monday, April 12, from 9 a.m. until funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd. In lieu of flowers, spend time with those you love.
