Aaron Mayeux

Aaron J. Mayeux, age 82, who was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on June 16, 2015 surrounded by his family.

Aaron was a very hard worker, with an amazing work ethic that he passed down to all of his sons. He greatly enjoyed cooking, gardening, raising animals, and speaking and teaching Cajun French.

He is survived by his sons, Miles W. Mayeux and wife, Marilyn of Baton Rouge, Christopher A. Mayeux and wife, Marian of St. Francisville, Glen D. Mayeux and wife, Veronica of Marksville, Robert D. Mayeux and wife, Lisa of Clinton; grandchildren, Jonathan Mayeux of Baton Rouge, Jennifer Osborne of Baton Rouge, Stephen Mayeux of Baton Rouge, Christopher R. Mayeux of Baton Rouge, Corey Mayeux of St. Francisville, Michelle Mayeux of Baton Rouge, Amanda Patin of Pineville, Jessica Chase of Clinton, and Rebecca Mayeux of Clinton; eight great grandchildren; and sister, Una Coleman of Monroe.

Aaron is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Velita Mayeux; parents, Arnold and Una Mayeux; and brother, Royal Mayeux.

The family requests that visitation hours be observed on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Visitation will continue on Friday, June 19, 2015, from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM, officiated by Dr. French.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made of the hospice facility of your choice or the Louisiana ALS chapter, 640 Main St #101, Baton Rouge, LA 70801.
