Ms. Iva Louise Simmons Casey “Punkin”, age 89, passed away peacefully July 4th at her daughter’s home. She was a native of Osyka, Mississippi and graduate of Kentwood High School, class of 1947.
She was the only child of the late, Lucas and Mary Ellen Simmons, born June 1, 1929. Louise worked as a buyer for D.H. Holmes of New Orleans and a buyer for Stewart’s in Louisville, Kentucky. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling, sewing, entertaining, water aerobics, and spending time with her large family. She leaves behind her daughters Priscilla Dean Lynch, and husband Timmy, of Baton Rouge, Ora Ellen Dean Nunnery, of Baton Rouge, Linda Stevenson, husband Jim, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, along with her beloved grandchildren, Carlton Lynch (Joy), Jennifer O’Quin (Cavin), Mae Stevens (Scott), Casey Graham (Craig), Jesse Nunnery (Stacey), her 16 wonderful great grandchildren Anthony, Katlynn, Trennon, Hailey, Caiden, Hannah, Maggie, Carter, Ryan, Micah, Jesse Jr., Lucas, Conner, Baylee, Emma, and Cooper, numerous cousins, especially Arthur J. McGehee. The family would like to give a special thank you to, Lake Sherwood Retirement Community, Hospice of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Elois Tate for their love and support.
Visitation for Louise Casey will be held Saturday, July 7th, from 10:30 am- 1:30 pm, with a service immediately following visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.

    So sorry for your loss. I remember Louise and her kindness to my brother and I after the passing of my father Bernice Casey. I will never forget it.
