LouElla Christine Lee Blackwell, a resident of Baton Rouge, died at 10:44pm on Monday, June 25, 2018, at her home. She was 86 and a native of Tylertown, MS.
Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Saturday, June 30, from 12 noon until religious service at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Dan Puchalla. Entombment at St. George Mausoleum, 7808 St George Dr, Baton Rouge, LA.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Wesley Kelly; 3 sons and 1 daughter in law, John and Mary Blackwell, Jeffrey Blackwell, Sr., and James “Zeke” Blackwell; 7 grandchildren, Melissa Matthews and William, Matthew and wife Brittany Blackwell, Jonathan Blackwell and fiancée Alicia, Rebecca Blackwell, Jeffrey Blackwell, Jr., Kaitlyn Marie Kelly, and Caroline Grace Kelly; great-grandchildren, Mark Matthews, Finn Blackwell, and Brayden Brown; sisters, Patsy Geneva Jones and Ethel Loraine Williams; Kathy Graves Hawkins, who was like another daughter; Debbie Blackwell; and brother-in-law, Waid Richmond.
She was greeted by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, along with her husband of 50 years, Robert John “Johnny” Blackwell; her parents, Oscar and Edith Lee; her in-laws, Robert and Emily Blackwell; brothers and sisters-in-law, OC and Mary Lee and David and Annie Mae Lee; and sister, Dorothy Richmond; best friend Betty Graves; and a host of others gone on before her.
Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Melissa Christine, Rebecca Leigh, Kaitlyn Marie and Caroline Grace.
The family of LouElla Christine Lee Blackwell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Margaret, Ms. Peggy, Marshal, Stephanie, Ms. Lucy, and Shantell for the loving way they cared for our sweet mom, Jodi, mom’s amazing nurse, and the entire staff at Clarity Hospice, Dr. Richard Robin, Dr. Edmund Vinci, and all of the caregivers that cared for mom through the years.
